VOTE #1 NEWTOWNER

Voting is now open for GABS Hottest 100 - Australia's largest craft beer poll.

By the frothers! For the frothers! All over the country!

For the past couple of years, our beloved Newtowner has taken out the #4 spot, a huge achievement and one we're extremely proud of. Some other honourable mentions last year were Natural Lager at #31, Summer Hop Ale at #89, Motorcycle Oil at #94 and Afends Hemp IPA at #95.

Our passionate brewers have been BUSY this year, churning out three new beers to add to our B-Sides Collection and GABS nominee list, alongside the usual suspects. Plus, a coupla surprises in there for good measure.

Another year of beer, another year remaining proudly independent. Our GABS nominees are...

Newtowner

Young Henrys wouldn't be where we are today without Newtown. It's our home, community and inspiration. So when invited to mark the suburbs 150th birthday, we jumped at the chance. The result, a golden, refreshing pale ale with great balance and hoppy aroma. Drinks all day, every day.

Aussie Pale Ale - 4.8%

Doubletowner

Deep and rich like Newtown’s history, our seventh birthday celebratory ale pours with a long lasting, off white head. A complex spice and berry aroma plays across the strong, malty undertones which linger long on the palate, first with sweetness which quickly becomes refreshing bitterness. Best enjoyed with mates, straight from the bottle at sunset in Camperdown Park.

Double Pale Ale - 7.5%

IPA

After a tonne of experimenting, this year we finally landed on an IPA recipe that was just right. Galaxy forward passionfruit and citrus zest on the nose, grassiness on the palate with nicely balanced malt character and bitterness. A new hop regime and a fresh new look.

Indian Pale Ale - 6%

Motorcycle Oil

Smooth, hoppy, black beer with mild bitterness, roughly based on a hopped-up American porter. Originally brewed as a small batch in 2017, returning each winter by popular demand, bigger and bolder than ever. Best served loud.

Natural Lager

Our Natural Lager is exactly what the name suggests. Four ingredients go in and this beer comes out. Just hops, malt, water and yeast we don’t even filter it. An Aussie take on a German classic with no preservatives.

Lager - 4.2%

Rumming With The Devil

This ravishing Brown Ale was brewed in collaboration with Sydney’s Brix Distillers. It’s solid malt bill creates a rich, roasty, biscuity flavour and aroma with hints of cocoa and spice, leading to the showcase of a classic partnership... Aussie Raisins steeped in Brix White Spirit.

Rum & Raisin Brown Ale - 6.4%

Stayer

Soft stone fruit and lychee hop aroma, bright golden body, super refreshing with a slightly bitter finish. It’s a gentle beer for gentle people who care about having a good time whilst ensuring that their good time doesn’t ruin the good time of others.

Mid Lager - 3.5%

Unicorn Tears

We teamed up with self-proclaimed "shitty grunge" lords The Dead Love on a limited edition XPA titled "Unicorn Tears" in celebration of their album Extinction of Unicorns. Bright and sessionable, this XPA has a moderate bitterness balanced with a nicely complex citrusy/pineapple hop aroma.

Extra Pale Ale - 5%
