MEET OUR YH MATES

BECAUSE BEER IS BETTER WITH FRIENDS…

  • South Sydney Rabbitohs

We’re so bloody proud to be long-time mates with South Sydney Rabbitohs. Keeping the boys nicely hydrated both on and off the field, you’ve probably spotted the YH x Rabbitohs tinnie man at their games, or doing a victory lap around the dressing room after a big win. Find our collab beer ‘Glory Haze XPA’ in bottlos across Sydney now!

  • Bad Dreems

One of the country’s finest rock outfits, not a day goes by at YH HQ without a Baddies track or two blaring across the brew deck. We’re proud to partner with the Bad Dreems boys, keeping them stocked with cold cans of Stayer on tour and in the studio. Go and give their latest album HOO HA! a spin.

  • Wade Carmichael

Australian Pro Surfer and all round lord, Wade Carmichael is an absolute weapon in the water. Named Rookie of the Year in 2018, placing him #9 surfer in the world, Wade’s been laying serious rails ever since. Yiew. It was a very good day when Wade walked into the brewery, cracked a beer with us and we called each other mates. We’ve been listening to coastal chill ever since.

Wade enjoys Stayers, surfing, Stayers, fishing, Stayers and Stayers.

  • Dr. Alexandra Thomson & UTS Science

In 2017, we met Dr. Alexandra Thomson, and the talented team at UTS Science Deep Green Biotech Hub, who changed the YH brewery, for good. Together, we developed a carbon capture system and installed it on the brewfloor, which uses micro algae to turn C02 (a byproduct of brewing) to oxygen.

Working with the UTS team has given us humble brewers the chance to make significant, sustainable change in our industry with this technology being the first of its kind. Here’s Dr. Alex and her team for introducing us to algae, the plant that quite literally saved the world.

  • Aimee Massie

Our favourite Newtown local, pro-skater Aimee Massie knows what’s up. Massie is building a cult following of fans and admirers alike through her incredible skating and no bullshit attitude. Skating at an elite level all over the world, Aimee is challenging gender norms and inequality in sport and becoming a role model for young female skaters everywhere. Plus, she’s basically the coolest person we know.

  • These New South Whales

Punks, podcasters, and comedians, TNSW are an absolute mixed carton of tasty surprises. As musicians they’ve played some of the country’s biggest stages, had their own Comedy Central mockumentary series and currently host popular music-related podcast; What a great punk. We’ve been lucky enough to share a couple of iconic gig moments and plenty of Ginger Beers with these guys in recent times, and feel very lucky to call ‘em mates.

  • Rob Pace

A certified wizard on four wheels and current Australian Skater of the Year, we met Rob at last year’s RIP IN WEEKENDER where we watched him soar, slide and slam his way around the Volcom halfpipe, before sharing a couple of beers and getting to know him for the bloody lovely dude that he is. Since then, Rob has joined us on our Road To Marketta skate tour, skated at our Best Served Loud show on the Goldy and spread the good word about our Ginger beer harder than just about anyone else.

  • Ginger Taylor

One of the most talented, unique, funny and on-point illustrators in the country, Ginger Taylor, you complete us. The artist behind YH tasting bar mural and core range t-shirt “Beer Is A Girl’s Drink,” (a staff and fan favourite), we’ve been cheersing beers with Ginger 4 EVA. She’s painted murals and venues all over the world and has her own merch line which includes t-shirts, custom bowling pins and motorcycle helmets. The essentials.

  • Sindy Sinn

Whether you know this mug or not, you’ve probably seen Sindy’s YH murals all over Australia...or the internet. Sindy Sinn is a core part of Young Henrys DNA, creating iconic murals, merchandise, pins and tattoos for the YH community and beyond. We’ve seen this guy put away 25 Newtowners at lunch, then paint a full mural blindfolded without breaking the lines….Not really, but he is a force to be reckoned with. Probably why he’s becoming one of the country’s most sought after artists. On ya Sindy!

  • Two Good Co.

We’re so bloody honoured to work with the legends at Two Good Co. for many years. Two Good is a local Newtown-based charity, working with at risk and homeless women with an aim to re-educate and arm them with the skills, experience and confidence to re-enter the workforce. Serving over 200,000 lovingly prepared meals to refugees across Australia, the Two Good kitchen has been making serious impact and thoughtful change in our community for over 10 years. How good.

  • Newtown Neighbourhood Centre

We love working with Newtown Neighbourhood Centre for Newtown Festival each year. A hugely successful event which welcomes 90,000 revellers to our hometown to celebrate the rich and diverse arts and culture that gives Newtown it’s character. We also take part in the Newtopian Sleepout each year, which is another of Newtown Neighbourhood Centre’s amazing initiatives.

  • Yeah Rad

Yeah Rad are the dynamic duo and exceptionally talented content team behind, well pretty much everything. Featuring Reece (aka Bad Girl Ri Ri) and Joel (aka Joeley, Joelene, Reece?), their killer eye and creative thinking helps capture all that Young Henrys does. From major music festivals, limited releases, to our algae project, and annual tinnie crack, we bring these guys everywhere. Team work really does make the dream work.
