Learn about our Algae Project in the Science Tent at this year's Splendour In The Grass

Folks, we're heading to Splendour in the Grass!

This year, we'll be camped up at the Science Tent to chat all things beer and algae. Find out how the two together are creating a more sustainable future for both brewing and livestock industries alike 🍻 🐮

Catch chats from our very own Richard Adamson and Jesse Searls presenting as part of the Yeasts, Beasts and Magical Things talk, on Saturday July 23rd from 3pm at the Splendour Science Tent.

CO2 is produced during the brewing process, and these glowing green tanks pictured house roughly 5 million micro-algae cells, which bubble away to produce oxygen — which offsets the CO2 from brewing.

We then mix this algae with spent grain (another by-product from brewing) and feed it to some very happy cattle. The result? Less methane production in livestock. Less cow farts = happier earth.

Not heading to Splendour? You can still learn all about our Algae Project in partnership with UTS Science Climate Change Cluster and Meat and Livestock Australia here.
