Best Served Loud Live Music Series

Melbourne, it's a hell of a city. Great coffee, stunning people and a stupidly good live music scene.

Over the past two decades we’ve seen bands looming out of the Victorian state and taking the world by storm... a Tropical Fuck Storm if you will. Think JetCut CopyEddy Current Suppression Ring and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds. More recently King Gizzard and the Lizard WizardRolling Blackouts Coastal FeverHiatus KaiyoteAlex Lahey – give us a Stayer and Spotify account and we could literally be here all day.

The point is: Maintaining a vibrant live music scene is something we hold dear to our hearts. So we’ve decided to throw a few free parties - 12 to be exact - the Young Henrys Best Served Loud Live Music Series. Each month we’ll be curating an incredible line-up of quality local acts to play a FREE show at one of our favourite venues throughout the state of Victoria.

Kicking off last month, Geelong legends Vertigo joined mates and hometown heroes Dumb Punts for a night a raw garage punk and all-round debauchery at rock n roll institution, Labour In Vain. There was tinnie smashing, pit piling and a sweet Newtowner drink special ensuring thirsts were quenched and bank was saved.

This month we head to Tramway Hotel to see low-fi, slacker-fuzz band Jade Imagine. Releasing their debut EP back in 2017, What The Fuck Was I Thinking via Milk!, the dream-pop 4-piece is lead by frontbabe and brains Jade McInally, an indie rock regular since circa 2003 playing in bands like TantrumsJess Ribeiro and Jess Cornelius.

Rolling on throughout the year, our Best Served Loud series will be rocking up at a handful of cool venues including The Standard HotelNighthawksBendigo Hotel and Northcote Social Club for an extra special soirée in May as part of Melbourne's Good Beer Week.

Be sure to keep your eyes and ears peeled each month for what talents we'll be serving loud and where to find them.
