Recap: Newtowner's 10th Birthday street party

December 12 marked 10 years since the first schooner of Newtowner was poured at The Courty. To celebrate the occasion, we linked up with the venue to dial our annual tinnie crack up a few notches and throw a HUGE party on Eliza Street.

A stacked arvo of beers, music, food and more, the highlight was standing shoulder-to-shoulder with our mates and neighbours to crack over 800 tinnies in unison as a toast to the birthday beer.

Massive shout outs to our good mates at The Courty for accomodating us and our hundreds of party guests, all of our talented musical mates who KILLED IT on the Rock & Roll Circus stage, the lords of all things tasty at Mary's Continental Deli and 212 BLU for keeping the crowd nourished, Darcy Byrne and Jenny Leong for their kind words, our PM Anthony Albanese for the epic letter/birthday card, the crews who helped setup, pack down and keep the day running smoothly AND of course, everyone who came down to dance, sing, crack a tin and celebrate everything that makes this community so damn great!

Happy birthday Newtowner, here’s to the next 10!

Shots by April Josie and Yeah Rad.
