Classic Tales was our way of slowing things down and giving space to those stories, created in partnership with the South Sydney Rabbitohs, a club whose history runs deep through Sydney and beyond.
Across the series, we sat down with four figures who helped shape the Rabbitohs legacy, capturing their reflections in their own words. No scripts. No rush. Just honest conversations about what it meant to pull on the jersey.
Each episode of Classic Tales spotlighted a different chapter in South Sydney’s story.
Together, their stories formed a layered portrait of what South Sydney has always stood for - toughness, loyalty and an unshakeable sense of belonging.
At Young Henrys, we’ve always believed culture lives in the details. In pubs, in footy clubs, in the stories people tell over a beer.
Classic Tales wasn’t about nostalgia for nostalgia’s sake. It was about preserving history, sharing lessons, and giving newer generations a chance to understand what came before them straight from the people who lived it.
It was also a natural extension of our long-standing relationship with South Sydney, built on shared values: community, authenticity and backing what matters.
The Classic Tales series reminded us that while times change, the core of South Sydney doesn’t. The jerseys evolve, the game moves faster, but the stories - the real ones - remain.
We’re proud to have helped bring these voices together and to play a small role in keeping South Sydney’s legacy alive, one tale at a time.
