A Collision of Cultures & Creativity
From the moment the pop-up launched, Camperdown’s food lovers had the chance to dive into dishes that married nostalgia with bold expression - think ghost chilli papdi chaat, mustard-spiced charred chicken with hop glaze, and a salty-sweet peanut butter lassi with Parle-G. Each dish balanced spice, texture and creativity in a way that kept people coming back for more.
Tastes Elevated by a Brew
We didn’t just watch, we joined in. To complement the rich flavours and aromatic spices, Young Henrys brewed a limited-edition Curry Leaf XPA, made using fresh curry leaves from the herb tree growing at our Newtown brewery. This wasn’t just a pairing; it was a collaboration in spirit and flavour, elevating the food with a beer that echoed the spices on the plate.
The Curry Leaf XPA showcased the bright citrus and spice character of Australian hops, with herbal and tannic notes from the curry leaf infusion. Available exclusively during the pop-up at The Lady Hampshire, it became a standout highlight - a beer that reflected the courage, soul and sensory depth of the entire event.
More Than a Menu - a Moment
What made the Sarah Todd × Derrel’s pop-up truly memorable wasn’t just the flavour - it was the intersection of community, creativity and culture. Locals, food explorers and beer lovers alike gathered under one roof to celebrate something that felt both familiar and completely new. It reminded us that food, drink and story are inseparable and when you lean into bold ideas, great things happen.
From the first plate to the last pint, it was an experience that captured the best of Sydney’s collaborative spirit and one we’re proud to have supported.
Looking Forward
We’re always excited by partnerships that push boundaries and bring people together around food, drink and shared curiosity. If you missed this one, keep your eyes peeled. Stay tuned for more collaborations, limited brews and community moments ahead.
