Community: Dine Out For Dignity

Community has been at the crux of everything we do here at Young Henrys. Our home base, Newtown in Sydney’s inner west is built on a special, eclectic community of humans who make it oh so special. So, when we heard about Dine Out For Dignity, well, it was a no brainer for us to jump on board. From October 14-18, during International Eradication of Poverty Week, local pubs, cafes, and restaurants are stepping up to donate part of their proceeds to the Newtown Neighbourhood Centre (NNC) to give a hand to those doing it tough.

What is Dine Out For Dignity?

The Dine Out For Dignity campaign sees heaps of Inner West venues raising cash for the NNC. The legends at NNC help out some of the most vulnerable in our community – people doing it rough, living in boarding houses, or seniors needing a bit of extra support. All the money raised keeps vital services like the Drop-In Hub running, where locals can find a safe space and get the help they need, five days a week.

How can you get involved?

All you gotta do is head down to a participating venue during the week, grab a bite, and a chunk of your bill will go straight to NNC. Some spots are even pouring our Karma Kegs – we’re slinging the beers, and every dollar raised from those Young Henrys pints is going straight to the cause.

Why It’s Important?

The NNC is a lifeline for so many in the Inner West. From offering a friendly face to giving practical support, they’re there when our community needs them. By getting involved in Dine Out For Dignity, you’re not just having a meal or a cold Newtowner – you’re helping keep NNC’s doors open and their services running. So, if you’re keen for a pub meal, a lazy brunch, or just a few beers with your mates, check out the Dine Out For Dignity venues and get involved. Together, we can keep the Newtown Neighbourhood Centre doing what they do best – helping out the legends in our community who need it most. We’ll catch you there!
