To celebrate the opening of the Barangaroo Foreshore to the public for the first time in 100 years, we've created the WelcomeBrew.
It's a bright, copper ale made with its locality very much in mind. Drawing inspiration from the surroundings, we consulted with Clarence Slockee, Aboriginal Education Officer at the Royal Botanic Gardens, on which native foods would have historically been abundant around the harbour. Roasted wattle seed fit the bill and to complement its nutty, slightly roasted character we added Australian noble like hops of Helga and Sylva along with the earthy, spicy notes of Ella.
The result is a lovely, subtle ale that will drink very happily at a waterfront picnic. Which is good news as it'll be pouring at the three giant picnics planned for the first Sunday of each month for September through to November starting on the 6th.
